BOSS LADY or BOSS LADIE?

‘Lady Bose’ someone screamed downstairs.

‘She is asleep.What is it?’ I asked.

‘Nothing. I just wanted to greet her’ the person responded.

‘I will tell her when she wakes up’ I replied as I continued making the mixture for my pancakes.

After about 30minutes, Bose woke up. The first words she said to me were ‘Shey I heard my name?’

‘Yes, someone was screaming Lady Bose abi na Boss Lady earlier. ‘She wanted to greet you,’ I made a face.

‘Ahh! Twas my protégé. She is the only one who adds Lady to my name’

‘Ok ooo. But wait ooo. I hear people use this Boss Lady more these days. I thought the word is solely for Female Bosses.

‘No girlfriend. Boss Lady can be used for a female boss, but most often used for a respectable female in her own right, who possess leadership qualities, self-mastery and excellence’.

‘Hian! Elaborate please’

‘Ok’

FEMALE BOSS

Like we discussed the other night, a female boss ought to have all the qualities of a boss, but, her work is even harder. This is because, she is a female doing what most people consider a man’s job – a girl in a boys’ scout. To be on top of her game, she does not only know her job, but must be exceptional at it ALWAYS to prove she is worthy of the position she occupies (at least that is what is obtainable in most cases).

EXCELLENT FEMALE

She is naturally strong, poised and holds her presence in a crowded room. She is emotionally intelligent and is an ace whoever and wherever she is. To make the distinction, I use Boss Ladie for her.

Boss Ladie characteristics:

She is confident.

She may not be the best looking, smartest or funniest person in the room, but you will recognise a boss ladie when you see her. She is purpose-driven and her self-confidence shines through with polished grace. She is the one you will never forget.

She is emotionally intelligent.

Her unyielding nature and positive attitude are a result of her mindfulness and high tolerance for stress. She is cool, collected and capable of handling her own emotions to get the job done.

The boss ladie is a keen relationship builder. She tackles a problem with an open mind and gets down to its roots with tact and compassion. She is relatable and an intent listener, and she is dedicated to cultivating relationships with absolutely no judgment.

She is energetic.

Taking care of yourself physically can help you take on the mental challenges of the each day. The boss ladie knows that, and she makes sure she clocks in her hours – work, exercise, good food, sleep, and even me-time – equally and fairly. She makes darn sure that she can bring the life back to the party.

She has a statement look.

She might not be wearing the trendiest or most expensive dress, but her dress sense smashes all others. A boss lady has a distinct sartorial taste that she calls her own.

‘Wow!’ I exclaimed. ‘Does this mean that any female can be a boss ladie, if I may use your distinction?’

‘Yes’

‘Does it also mean that a female boss can also be boss ladie?’

‘Yes she can. That combination is usually so cool if you ask me’

‘Yeah, I can imagine’
